artist statement:
“HazzA is a personification of my inner self, my subconscious given form. Through him, I create a dialogue between Harry, the conscious self, and HazzA, the subconscious self. His face displays a wide range of intense emotions – anger, anxiety, fear, confusion, and focus – reflecting the complex feelings I experience while navigating the uncertainties of young adulthood. Through HazzA, I tell stories visually, expressing feelings, fears, and thoughts that I may not always be able to consciously articulate. Each painting becomes a conversation between who I am and what lies within me, explored through surreal and playful scenes that blur the line between reality and imagination. These works touch on themes such as heartbreak, neglect, the challenges of youth, and societal pressures, with recurring symbols forming a personal visual language that addresses both individual struggle and broader social issues. A defining feature of my work is the use of bold, vibrant colors that bring dynamic, dreamlike settings to life. My goal is to draw viewers into worlds where everyday experiences become phantasmagorical journeys of reflection.”
